︎︎︎Untitled (Blue Taint)

The piece took a long time to complete, it was remade several times, waiting for the right expression. The experience of social isolation, brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, is visible in how the piece portrays the passing of time. The painting is defined by two different sets of pace: one slow and one fast. The latter is nervous and energetic, while the former is careful, meticulous and holds hidden references to other artists and their work.

This means that there are (at least) two entry points for the observer, marked by how – and at what pace – the viewer chooses to engage with the artwork. Dina Isæus-Berlin is currently completing her MFA at Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design. She is represented by Wetterling Gallery, Stockholm.
